  • What about ceiling height?

Because we manufacture the loft stairs ourselves we can make one to suit your requirements up to a height of 10 feet.

  • Is fitting a "big deal"?

Fitting time will vary from house to house, but an average fitting takes no more than two hours.

  • Can I order the stairs via this website?

Because of the wide range of stairs and variation in ceiling heights we request that customers ring us and give us their full details before ordering.

  • Is my attic suitable?

We rarely come across a situation where we cannot fit stairs. The stairs are completely self contained and do not extend above or beyond the actual trapdoor opening. There are no restrictions to fitting the stairs providing the opening to your loft can be extended in length.

  • What is the cost of a stairs?

The normal price is £395 including fitting. For heights above 8ft it will cost an extra £10 per 6 inches. Lath and plaster ceilings will cost an extra £25.

  • Do you call and measure first?

Yes, we will come and do a free site survey and at the same time bring a sample product to show you.

  • What size opening should I leave?

The standard opening size for the stairs is 22 inches wide by 41 inches long. Other widths are available upto 30 inches for the same price. It won't make any difference to the price whether you have a standard 2ft square opening or one that suits a curtain type stair.

  • How long of a wait is there?

Waiting time is usually around 10 days for all products.

  • What type of finishes are available?

The stairs are made of a varnished Southern Yellow Pine that gives an attractive and high quality durable finish. The trapdoor and architrave however is left without a finish so that you may paint or varnish it to fit with its suroundings.

  • Depending on the use of the stairs, which type would we recommend, standard or heavy duty?

Typically the standard stairs is for home use and the heavy duty is for commercial use in shops and warehouses for storing goods.
